Sehat ka Insaf’ campaign in KP

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday launched ‘Sehat ka Insaf’ campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to help children fight nine deadly diseases.

“In the first phase, Sehat ka Insaf will be availed in Peshawar only and then extended to other parts of the province,” the PTI chief told the media.

He said that 30,000 families would be provided with kits to help keep 0.8 million children safe from nine deadly diseases. “Each kit will include vaccination against all these nine diseases, including polio,” Imran said, adding that the campaign would cost the government Rs 20 billion and at least 12,000 volunteers would carry out the campaign.

He said the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Dr Shakil Afridi used a fake vaccination drive to track down Osama bin Laden and this had put lives of hundreds of thousands of children in danger. “Pakistani children suffer this loss,” he said, referring to attacks on polio workers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The United States has held back aid to demand release of Dr Shakil Afridi, who is facing charges that he allegedly helped the CIA track down al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad. -Daily times
