KARAK, May 5: The district advisory committee of anti-corruption department has warned the executive district officers (EDOs) of line departments of legal action if any misuse of official vehicles and other government resources is proved.
Matters pertaining to judicious use of government funds and assets were discussed at the first meeting of the newly-established committee, which was presided over by its chairman Arab Gul here on Thursday.
Members of the committee, including Shafiuddin, Ikhtiarullah, Tariq and Nizam Khan, also attended the meeting, which observed that most of the EDOs had been misusing government resources. It decided that government departments would be made free of political interference and wastage of funds on inaugural ceremonies of schemes would be discouraged.
The committee demanded an inquiry into the Zebi Dam drinking water supply scheme constructed at a cost of Rs120 million, as residents were yet to benefit from the project. “Fresh elections should be held in the country as rulers have failed on all fronts,” he said while speaking at a public gathering here at Daggar Nari on Thursday. He said that the rulers were blindly toeing the American line and they had no regard for the country’s interests. The JI leader said that by publicising the killing of Osama Bin Laden the US was in fact creating justification for its exit from Afghanistan where it faced a shameful defeat. Mr Khan also criticised MPA Mian Nisar Gul for joining the ANP after enjoying perks and privileges in the MMA government.
