FC foils terror bid in BalochistanQUETTA: The Frontier Corps (FC) on Thursday foiled a terror bid in Balochistan and seized 1400 kilogrammes of explosive material that was being smuggled from Chaman to interior Balochistan.

Paramilitary troops of the FC intercepted a truck, en route to Quetta from Chaman, near Garang checkpost on national highway during a routine checking. The FC personnel during the search recovered a huge quantity of explosive materials, including 30 remote control bombs and timers, and took three persons into custody. Meanwhile, police and law enforcement agencies recovered 10kg explosive material and two mortar shells from a car on Saryab Road. According to police, “unidentified persons planted the explosive material in a car and parked it near the Excise Office on Saryab Road. A detonator fixed with the bomb went off with a loud explosion, however, the explosive material and two mortar shells did not explode.” A heavy contingent of police and security forces rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. The Bomb Disposal Squad was called in to defuse the explosive material. – Dailytimes
