Water is a basic human need. Each person on earth requires at least 50 liters of clean water a day for drinking, cooking, and simply keeping themselves healthy and clean.

Most of us today do not realize the significance of clean drinking water for our healthy life. Healthy life cannot be ensured without proper hydration of the body. Our body is estimated to be about 60% percent water, which is needed to regulate body temperature and to provide the means for nutrients to travel to all the organs. When the body does not receive a constant, reliable supply of fresh Clean Water, it has to ration what’s available and cut back on certain functions in order to make the supply go round.

The Clean Drinking Water is a powerful environmental determinant of Health. It helps in proper digestion & is essential to life. Clean drinking water rejuvenates our entire system, cleans the body’s filtering system & removes body toxins. It’s the basic necessity for human life. Clean drinking water is important for everyone because it prevents us from perilous infections, illness and different health diseases.

Non-availability of clean drinking water has different impacts on Health such as waterborne diseases, & many types of diarrheal diseases, including Cholera, Typhoid & Dysentery. It may also lead to infectious diarrhea, and non -diarrhea diseases, that affect health by limiting productivity and the maintenance of personal hygiene. 84% of population lack access to clean drinking water in Pakistan, it has been taking millions of lives, especially those of children, every year.

To overcome the health issues special initiative of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Government of the Punjab has established the Punjab Saaf Pani Company – North in March, 2014 under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984, with an idea, to design, plan and execute projects for providing clean drinking water to everyone. The Saaf Pani company is designed for providing clean drinking water to the underprivileged.

Punjab Saaf Pani Company – North is providing clean drinking water with the highest level of quality services in underdeveloped areas. Drinking fresh water enhances people’s lives by facilitating them to maintain greatest health while living longer, fuller, more productive lives. Its basic purpose is to provide the opportunity for people to better their lives simply by changing their drinking water. They are intended to see communities break free from the cycle of poverty and spend time growing, learning, and thriving, instead of walking for water and fighting off illness. Still working to reach underdeveloped areas with clean drinking water. Provincial teams of Punjab Saaf Pani Company – North, are collaborating with the government departments of health and education which are engaged in a rigorous community awareness programs. The percentage of people using the filter water among local communities is also increasing due to this awareness campaign. Leading to a healthier and more productive citizens of Pakistan.
