Samaa unearthed a potential bombshell Tuesday that information provided to local journalists in Faisalabad yesterday about involvement of a guard of Rana Sanaullah’s son-in-law in the shooting incident was given through official telephone number of an influential person.
Samaa correspondent reported that calls were made to Faisalabad journalists from the official telephone number (99205274) of Lahore informing them that the man, who was widely seen on television screens yesterday waving his gun and firing straight shots, was the guard of former provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah’s son-in-law. Sources said that from this same number, the local journalists were also informed that the plan to create disturbance in Faisalabad was made by Hamza Shahbaz, the son of Chief Minister Punjab Shahabaz Sharif, and Rana Sanaullah.
Our correspondent said that Sanaullah is also likely to talk about this issue in his press conference scheduled later today, adding the ex-minister also confirmed that calls were made from that number. Punjab government spokesman Zaeem Qadri, while talking to Samaa, denied the report and held out assurance that investigations would be launched to determine the facts. Meanwhile, PML-N leader and Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashood, who replaced Rana Sanaullah in Oct this year, also spoke to Samaa and denied his involvement in any such phone call. “I assure you that I don’t have any differences with Mr. Sanaullah and that we will completely investigate this matter,” he asserted. – Samaa
