SC Summons Imran, Qadri Today Over Anti-Govt March

During the hearing of a petition filed by Lahore High Court’s Multan Bar Association, the top court remarked that “protest is the constitutional right of every citizen as long as it did not disturb the lives of others”. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Nasirul Mulk remarked that the “top court judges faced inconveniences” while reaching the apex court, and also mentioned the problems faced by the commuters in the federal capital.

A larger bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Nasirul Mulk, accepting the petition, directed the issuance of notices to all respondent parties and fixed the hearing for today (Thursday). Attorney General of Pakistan Salman Aslam Butt submitted to the court that the ongoing sit-inns were a complete violation of articles 18, 19 and 20 of the constitution advocating the basic rights of the citizens. -dailytimes
