The Minister expressed his satisfaction on the commitment of civil armed forces in fighting terrorism and crimes in Karachi. He said the operation in Karachi was heading in the right direction and it was the right time to raise its level and scope. He said that momentum gained over last few months must not be allowed to wane or diminish. “The targeted operation in Karachi has the support of all the peace loving people of Karachi and we must live up to their expectations”, he added.

The interior minister Nisar Ali Khan said improved coordination between Rangers police and provincial government will go a long way in establishing durable peace in Karachi. He said the federal government is well aware of the requirements of civil-armed forces especially Sindh Rangers and will provide all the necessary resources to further enhance their capacity. The DG Rangers briefed the Minister about the ongoing operation in Karachi and the administrative and strategic challenges the force was facing in this regard. -geo
