Dr Shaista Lodhi, the host of GEO’s morning show Utho Jago Pakistan which sparked an unending anger amongst people by airing blasphemous content, is reportedly considering to leave the country amid death threats.
The offensive content was against the religious sentiments of Muslims which fueled the masses with anger. The controversial show escalated the public hatred against GEO TV and due to wrongdoings of channel administration now its employees are facing life threats. The program host Shaista Lodhi has reportedly received death threats and is mulling to shift abroad until the situation calms down as she can not afford to risk her family.
Though Shaista Lodhi has apologized the nation stating the offence to be ‘inadvertent and unintentional’, however, the matter is constantly heating up and this show has endangered her life. Aamir Liaquat another TV host of religious programs in GEO, has appealed the people to forgive Shaista Lodhi and her team for their terrible mistake and don’t exploit the situation any more. -showbizpak
