KMC submits protest against KESC in Karachi

On Tuesday, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) demonstrated its authoritative power against Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) to express outrage over electricity closure.

KESC had closed the supply of electricity to the Civic Center of Karachi in the Hassan Square area of the metropolis, housing the central offices of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), due to non-payment of dues. KMC provided a ‘rapid’ answer to the electric supply department by banning KESC employees from entering their offices situated in the building.

Karachi City Wardens have been placed at the entrance gates of the Civic Center to push out any KESC employees, should they try to enter the building. Panic has arisen in the city as a large number of KMC protesters are still gathered within the premises of the building and KESC employees have made it clear that they consider these actions as bullying. – PT
