KARACHI: Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi is undertaking a two-week registration campaign from July 29 to record the details of all houses and commercial units located in the housing authority.
A DHA official said on Sunday that the registration process is meant to maintain a database to help in improving the overall security environment in the area.e further stated that the housing and commercial units in DHA will be registered along with the essential details of their owners and occupants including the information of the servants and employees working/residing in these units.Foreign consulates located in the area will only be required to furnish details of the local employees working there.
The DHA official pointed out that a large number of teams have been constituted for this purpose. The extensive exercise will entail going door to door in designated areas. The team members in the first phase will distribute printed registration forms and subsequently collect them back after two days. The team members will have proper identification cards issued by DHA.
The data provided will be kept confidential and will not be used for any other purpose. DHA Administrator Brig Muhammad Abdullah has described the initiation of registration campaign as a significant step towards creating a better security environment.He has asked the residents to extend their maximum support and cooperation in making the campaign successful. – DailyTimes
