KARACHI: Under Traffic Management System devised for improving traffic flow in city, 15 arteries have been initially selected to turn them into model roads. SMS Alert Service is also being launched to apprise citizens about traffic jams and alternate routes.
DIG Traffic Karachi Abdul Khaliq Shaikh informed in a meeting with Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry OICCI, here on Thursday.
IG Police Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch accompanied him, as they visited OICCI office to take stock of problems faced by overseas investors. DIG Traffic said that required steps are being taken to implement the Traffic Management System. The plan would be later expanded to other roads of the city, he added. IG Policed discussed law and order situation with OICCI officials and nominated a SP rank officer as focal person. – Dailytimes
