ISLAMABAD: The broadcast of Capital TV, a private TV channel owned by former FIA deputy director general Ahmed Riaz Sheikh, is being taken off air across the country when a guest on a live talk show insulted Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Kayani.
Sources told Pakistan Today on condition of anonymity that the decision was taken after a guest on a talk show hosted by prominent journalist Ejaz Haider insulted the Army chief using foul language live on air. The guests on the show were Marvi Sirmed and Amad Khalid, a former personal secretary to Zaid Hamid.Soon after the episode, the authorities concerned decided to take the channel off air from cable networks for an indefinite period. – PT
