ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has constituted four benches, including a Shariat appellate bench, at the principal seat to hear a number of important cases during the next week, starting from Monday (March 18).
The first bench will comprise the Chief Justice, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Sh. Azmat Saeed, the second bench will consist of Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Muhammad Athar Saeed and the third one will include Justice Jawwad S Khawaja, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan.
The Chief Justice also constituted a special Shariat appellate bench comprising Justice Jawwad S Khawaja, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Dr.Muhammad Al-Ghazali and Justice Dr.Muhammad Khalid Masood.Three two-member benches have also been constituted with the first one comprising Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani and Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmany, the second of Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk and Justice Muhammad Athar Saeed and the third of Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Sh.Azmat Saeed.According to cause lists, no application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the court. If the counsel is unable to appear for any reason, the Advocate-on-Record will be required to argue the case. Besides, no adjournment on any ground will be granted. – Nation
