LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said it was his mission to set up a crime free and peaceful society. He said protection of life, property and honour of the citizens was the prime responsibility of police.
Presiding over a high-level meeting, he reviewed the law and order situation in the province. Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Punjab Advocate General, Punjab Secretary Home, Punjab Police Acting Inspector General, Additional IGs, Punjab Prosecutor General, Lahore DIG (Operations) and Lahore DIG (Investigation) were also present on the occasion. He said the police should utilise all its energies for the provision of justice to the masses and to address the grievances of the aggrieved. Sharif said that modern technology should be fully utilised for the eradication of crime. The CM said that indiscriminate action should be taken against criminal elements, irrespective of their political influence. – PT
