Qadri trying to end long march through backdoor channels

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran, Dr. Tahirul Qadri has started making efforts through backdoor channels to end January 14 long march to save prestige after opposition from major political and religious parties.

Well-placed sources told Media that the planned long march by Dr Tahirul Qadri had been losing its spirit after strong opposition from political and religious parties of the country. It is said the coalition partner in the PPP government; Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has planned not to participate in Qadri’s long march and in this regard backdoor dialogue between PPP and MQM are underway.

Sources further said that the government wanted to delay the long march through MQM while the MQM wanted to get its demands fulfilled from the government by using long march as a tool and progress in this regard had been made.On the other hand, Tahirul Qadri seems disappointed after not getting full support from the Establishment side as the army apologised for any kind of support to Qadri for long march, therefore, Qadri has been facing problems, sources added

The close friends of Tahirul Qadri are trying to arrange his meeting either with President Asif Ali Zardari or Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf through any platform. The political analysts said that Dr. Tahirul Qadri’s long march would not succeed after strong opposition by political and religious parties. They added that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI and PML-Q have withdrawn support from Qadri’s long march, therefore, presently all the dreams of Tahirul Qadri becoming a hero dashed to the ground. – Onlinenews
