RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology is expected to be functional for indoor patients in the third week of January.
Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Shoaib Khan, talking to INP, said that the installation of equipment was underway, while the first phase of appointment of doctors had been completed.The MS said that two angiography machines had been installed, while 12 X-ray machines would be installed by tomorrow (Tuesday).
He said that the installation of a CT scan machine was also under process, which would be completed within a week. He said that eco and ETT machines had already been installed in the facility.He said that 500 posts were vacant from grades 1 to 20 in the institute, including 55 posts of specialist doctors. He said that 32 specialists had been hired purely on merit. “Recruitment of paramedics is also underway,” he added. – DailyTimes
