KARACHI: The MA Jinnah road in Saddar, declared the highly sensitive zone by the government, has been closed for vehicular traffic for three days from November 23 to 25 under the security plan for Muharram-ul-Haram.

The law enforcers, under the security of the main procession of Muharram-ul-Haram, have ordered closure of all commercial activates in the area, while after inspecting the area handed over the administration of procession.During the closure period, the general public will not be allowed to enter the vicinity while special sticker for vehicles have been given to law enforcers, media teams and ambulance services. The main procession of Muharram will be passing through the usual route from MA Jinnah road. The shops located from Numaish Chorangi up to Tower Market, have been sealed in view of security preparations for the scheduled processions of Muharram ul Haram,

The security personnel have closed down the link road joining the main MA Jinnah road with containers, buses, trucks and concrete bricks to avoid any untoward incident. It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh Home Department declared MA Jinnah road as high security zone and most sensitive area of the metropolis to avoid the unwanted incident during Morraham-ul-Haram and trying to save innocent citizens. It may be mentioned here that in 2009 a blast occurred on MA Jinnah road in which at least 43 mourners were killed while over hundred injured. – Dailytimes
