ISLAMABAD: Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr Farooq Sattar has said that first ever Overseas Pakistanis Policy would be announced in November 30 in London.

Addressing the participants of “Potentials and Prospects of Pakistani Diaspora” here, he said that overseas Pakistanis across the world would be invited in the historic event.He said overseas Pakistanis are asset for the country and their contribution in the strengthening of the economy can not be ignored.He said the role of Overseas Pakistanis is important to put the country on the road of progress, prosperity and development.

“We have to realize importance of the overseas Pakistanis in the strengthening country’s economy,” he commented.The Minister said Overseas Pakistanis are ambassadors of the country and project soft and true image of the country in their respective countries.He said Overseas Pakistani should be given right to vote and special seats should also be allocated in National and Provincial assemblies.Farooq Sattar said that overseas Pakistani should also be allowed to contest election on direct seats.

He said that national policy should also be devised to defeat terrorism, extremism and poverty from the country.The minister said two housing schemes would be announced soon for Overseas Pakistanis while they will also be encouraged to invest in Pakistan.He said overseas Pakistan would also be asked to assist government for the establishment of universities and colleges.”We have made Pakistan safer and prosperous by following the saying of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal,” he said. – Brecorder
