The 135th birth anniversary of poet of the East Allama Iqbal would be observed on Friday.
The Iqbal Day would be observed with traditional zeal and reverence. There will be a public holiday throughout the country on this occasion. All national television channels will broadcast special programmes relating to the life and achievements of Allama Mohammad Iqbal. National flag will be hoisted on all principal government buildings.
Cultural, educational and literary organizations have chalked out different programmes to mark the day in a befitting manner and pay homage to the great poet who envisioned the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims of subcontinent.
