LAHORE: The PML-Q on Wednesday submitted an adjournment motion at the Punjab Assembly Secretariat regarding Tuesday’s fire tragedy at a factory on Bund Road.
PML-Q parliamentary leader in the Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Zaheeruddin also submitted an adjournment motion about devastation caused by recent floods. In the first motion, the party said that more than 8,000 fire incidents had occurred during the last four years in Lahore in which 680 buildings were razed to ground.
“But the government remained aloof and did not initiate any action against anybody,” the motion read. In the second motion, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin said that had the government acted on Justice Mansoor Ali Shah’s report, Punjab could have averted devastations caused by recent rains and floods. “Instead of taking practical steps, the chief minister is spending government funds on his personal promotion,” he added. – Dailytimes
