Pippa Middleton enjoyed the US Open tennis tournament in the company of a highflying American after she was given VIP treatment from a 55-year-old hotelier.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s 28-year-old sister was seen in the stands with Spencer Vegosen, 24, once one of the top junior tennis players in America.The 6ft 3 ins Mr Vegosen is also an accomplished academic having studied East Asian Studies and Mathematics and Harvard, and is said to know Mandarin Chinese, Classical Chinese, Japanese and Spanish. He is also believed to have worked at Goldman Sachs.Miss Middleton, wearing dark sunglasses, and Mr Vegosen, originally from Chicago, watched the women’s singles quarter final match between Samantha Stosur of Australia and Victoria Azarenka of Belarus on Day Nine of the tournament at Flushing Meadows in New York.
Miss Middleton, wearing a multicoloured dress, attended the tennis event with several girlfriends.She is in New York ahead of the launch of her book on entertaining but is not reported to be having any business meetings during the trip, which coincides with her 29th birthday and New York Fashion Week.She had previously been seen playing table tennis with hotelier Andre Balazs at his Sunset Beach hotel on Sunday.
The 55-year-old, who is said to be worth £300 million, flew her to one of his eight hotels in the US on his private sea plane.The pair were photographed together at his Sunset Beach boutique hotel on Shelter Island.Balazs, the owner of the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, and Miss Middleton later enjoyed an intimate dinner.According to the Daily Mail, an onlooker said: “They didn’t seem like a couple but there was a lot of flirting going on and when dinner ended he gave her a friendly European-style double kiss on the cheek.”She then spent the evening in the Electric Room rock lounge with Mazdack Rassi, the owner of photography company Milk Studios. – Telegraph
