ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf held telephonic conversations with various political leaders of the country on the occasion of the 65th Independence Day.
Ashraf telephoned governors and chief ministers of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, president and prime minister of AJK, ANP President Asfandyar Wali Khan and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Nisar Ali Khan and exchanged greetings with them. Talking to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Ashraf said, “We have to put our heads together and work closely on matters of national importance.”
He praised Shahbaz’s role in the formation of a committee for fair distribution of electricity among the provinces. The Punjab chief minister assured the prime minister that he was ready to cooperate and help find solutions to problems facing the common man.
In his conversation with the governors and chief ministers of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, Prime Minister Ashraf expressed hope that an increase in transfer of resources to the provinces as consequence of the 7th NFC Award should enable them to improve service delivery and the standard of living of the people of the province. – PT
