KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is going to organise a public meeting here at Jinnah Ground, Azizabad on June 24 at 05:00pm.
This was announced by member MQM Coordination Committee, Gulfaraz Khan Khatak while addressing a press conference at Azizabad here on Thursday. He said the uniqueness of the public meeting is that the Pushtuns living in Karachi would participate in it. He said we appeal to the honorable, courageous and conscientious Pushtuns living in Karachi to come to the MQM’s public meeting on June 24 in Azizabad in large numbers and make it a historic success. He saidhas given the message of love, peace, tolerance, brotherhood and unity in his preaching.
The philosophy of MQM has reached in all four provinces, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Karachi is a cosmopolitan city of various nationalities, he added. He said his party has been organising historical public meetings of various nationalities in the past by following its long-standing traditions. Khan said that the message of these public meetings is to gather the people of the country in order to highlight the idea of a strong and stable Pakistan.
He said the MQM had organised a public meeting in Jinnah Ground, Azizabad last year in which people belonging to all the nationalities living in Karachi had participated. The theme of the public meeting was national solidarity and it was very successful, he added. He said oppressed people belonging to various nationalities had shown their love and esteem for Altaf Hussain by participating in the event in large numbers.
He said the present time calls for unity and solidarity instead hatred and division. In order to stem the rising tide of racial and linguistic prejudices it is necessary to unite people at every level, he added. The MQM leader said we believe that the MQM is the only political party in the country and Altaf Hussain is the only leader that can bring a revolution in the country. He said poor and middle class people affiliated with his ideology and philosophy would be the harbinger of the real change in the country.
