Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage (ADACH) on Thursday is launching “the Summer in Abu Dhabi 2012” at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).
The 4-week event represents the cornerstone of a large scale summer promotion aimed at attracting local and regional tourists. With a host of two-for-one and other discount deals at more than 50 of the emirate’s leading hotels and attractions included in this year’s summer campaign, Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national airline, has underpinned the summer push with an exclusive family offer on inbound services to Abu Dhabi from several Middle East and Africa destinations.
The carrier’s bonanza deal lets kids under 11 years old fly for free when accompanied by a full fare-paying adult passenger, while youngsters aged 12-16 can fly for half price when accompanied by a full fare-paying adult. In addition to a bigger-than-ever summer playground, fun fair rides and games rolling out across four Summer in Abu Dhabi halls at ADNEC, three adjoining halls will see Abu Dhabi Sports Council host a range of activities and workshops as part of its Sport & Games Festival. Targeted at everyone from five to 35 years of age, sports include judo, basketball, soccer, table tennis, tennis, badminton and golf. – Khaleejtimes
