KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan on Thursday chaired a meeting regarding the Wetland Park.
The meeting was held at the Governor House here. The Wetland Park would be built near Mai Kolachi here and it would the first park of its kind. This Park would be a part of the S-III sewerage plan for Karachi, it was further stated. The governor said on the occasion that S-III was a vital project for which the federal and the provincial governments have allocated some amount. The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) would also fund this project. The Wetland Park, described as environment-friendly, would be completed in two years’ time at a cost of Rs 2.94 billion. The S-III sewerage project would be completed at a cost of Rs 17 billion and would treat 500 MGD. Ibad directed that instead of accumulating the sewerage water at one place for treatment, the process should be done at three different points. staff report-dailytimes
