LAHORE: Six hundred and fifty Sikh Yatrees from India arrived by a special train in the provincial metropolis through the Wagha border on Tuesday to participate in Besakhi celebrations.
The first train reached the Wagha railway station at 11 am from Attari, India. The Evacuees Trust Property Board (ETPB) made special arrangements at the Wagha station for a warm welcome to the Indian guests. ETPB Addition Secretary Shrines Zahid Hussain Bukhari, Deputy Secretary Faraz Abbas, Azhar Sulehri, Sardar Sham Singh, Chairman Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parabandhak Committee, and a large number of local Sikh leaders and ETPB officers received the Sikh Yatrees. ETPB also served free meal and medical facilities were also available at the station. The Sikh Yatrees will visit their religious places including Hasanabdal, Panja Sahib, Dera Sahib and Nankana Sahib. – PT
