KARACHI: Rotary Club of Karachi Sunset Millennium (RCKSM) in collaboration with clubs one each in Turkey and India and Human Development Foundation (HDF) arranged 35 buffalos for the villagers in Mithi in Sindh.
Arrangements have also been made for the establishment of a milk chiller in the village under cooperative dairy farming with matching grant project. According to a spokeswoman of RCKSM the fresh milk would be transported daily to the plant to be packed according to the standardised conditions. She said members of HDF would monitor the process as well as impart vocational training to the villagers besides register collection of fresh milk from each villager. RCKSM in the light of damages in 2010-2011 floods, with a project budget around Rs 4 million, would also build a healthcare centre that would focus on mother and child.
RCKSM already built a 10 classrooms school for children and a vocation room for youth and school-going children to learn computers, besides provided 10 computers Budhapur in Sindh. RCKSM already built 130 homes with basic facilities and a filter plant for clean water in the village. RCKSM also built neo-natal ward each in Civil Hospital and JPMC. – Dailytimes
