Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza GilaniMUZAFFARGARH: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Sunday rejected PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif’s proposal of new administrative units and urged that Seraiki people only wanted to have a separate province.

He was addressing a gathering of people belonging to flood-hit communities after inaugurating Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Model Village in Sinawan here.He distributed the keys and allotment letters of newly constructed houses among the deserving women affected by the floods.Gilani said Mian Nawaz Sharif had recently given a statement in which he proposed new administrative units in the country. “But we reject this offer,” he added.

The prime minister said the Seraiki people do not want an administrative unit and giving them their own province was of highest priority. He said Saraiki people are sober, kind-hearted and have a sweet language but it does not mean they do not know what they want.Later, speaking to media men, Gilani said the People’s Party did not come into the government with anyone’s help and nor will it pack up on anyone’s demand.

He said that those hoping for the downfall of this government will not achieve anything. The Prime Minister added PPP is a name of a mission and movement and its workers are ideological and he feels proud having such courageous workers. He stated that these were the workers of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto who laid down their lives for the rights of the people. – Onlinenews
