PESHAWAR: As a tribute to Pashtun political and spiritual leader Abdul Ghafar Khan, the provincial authorities on Friday renamed the Peshawar Airport to ‘Bacha Khan International Airport’.
A ceremony held at the airport was attended by top Awami National Party (ANP) leaders, including ANP President Asfandyar Wali Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti, to celebrate the occasion, according to a senior party leader. Asfandyar Wali also cut a cake on the occasion. The renaming takes place a day after the ANP commemorated death anniversary of Bacha Khan, who was the father of ANP founder Abdul Wali Khan. – Dailytimes
