ISLAMABAD: The Green Trees Private Limited Company, in response to a suo motu case in the Supreme Court regarding irregularities and corruption in the acquisition of land for the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF), on Wednesday levelled serious charges against Federal Minister for Housing and Works Faisal Saleh Hayat.
According to the report, the federal minister demanded a huge bribe and upon not receiving it he constituted an inquiry committee comprising Senior Joint Secretary MP Awan, who intentionally prepared a report against the company. The company report says that the joint secretary’s past record is not good adding that the company had given occupation of 3,000 kanals to the Foundation, while the Capital Development Authority (CDA) was not issuing NOC to the foundation.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan observed that this was an issue of corruption, and they would decide the matter soon. Chaudhry Ashraf Gujjar sought time to file the report on behalf of three FGEHF Directors, Zafar Abbas, Qaisar Abbas and Kashif Ahmed Noor. The court accepted the plea and adjourned the hearing for two weeks. – Dailytimes
