islamabadISLAMABAD: Waiting for their posting, several grade 22 officers are suffering from sense of deprivation as grade 21 officers are serving as a federal secretaries in various ministries.

Sources familiar with the development told Online on Sunday that grade 21 officer of 6th common Kamran Lashari was currently posted as a federal secretary in ministry of Housing and Works whereas the same grade officers of 9th common Babar Yaqoob Fathe Muhammad is serving as federal secretary in ministry of Kashmir Affairs.

Recently grade 22 officer Imtiaz Inayat Elahi was transferred from Chairmanship of Capital Development Authority (CDA) and on this position despite posting a grade 22 officer a grade 21 officer was posted.

It is also interesting to note that many ministries and Divisions have been running for long time without a federal secretary or with additional or acting charge.Currently, Establishment Division has been running without a secretary, ministry of overseas with additional charge whereas Board of Investment (BOI) is running with acting charge.

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani had approved the promotion of 22 officers to the post of Federal Secretary (BS-22) and equivalent, on the recommendations of the High Powered Selection Board (HPSB) on November 25 last month and almost all of them were still waiting for their posting in some federal ministry or division.

“There was prevailing sense of deprivation amongst the high ranks bureaucratese as they are serving on the same position as they were in grade 21”,sources said, adding that in many cases they are working under their juniors which are shockable for them. – Onlinenews
