Kayani briefed on situation

KARACHI: An important meeting was held at the Corps Headquarters here on Thursday under the chair of Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani. The Army Chief was briefed by the officials of intelligence agencies about the Karachi situation. According to sources, the Rangers DG also gave briefing to Kayani and apprised him of the targeted operations, arrests and strategy for restoration of peace in the city. The COAS gave special directives to the Director General regarding operation in Karachi.The sources said the business community of the city had written letters to the Army Chief for taking notice of the deteriorating law and order situation in the port city. – Nation
