ISLAMABAD: Chinese delegation headed by Chairman Dongfang Electric Corporation called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday. Dongfang Electric Corporation delegation comprised Chairman Si Zefu, Vice President Han Ziqiao, Zhang Guorong, VP DEC International, Li Hong, Chief Executive of Pakistan office DEC, Chen Youping and Chen Huswei. Liu Jian, Chinese Ambassador, was also present during the meeting.Federal Minister for Water & Power, Syed Naveed Qamar, Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Moula Bakhsh Chandio,Chairman BOI,Saleem H. Mandviwala and Ambassador at large, Khalil Ahmed, were present during the meeting besides federal secretaries concerned and senior officials.
Matters pertaining to Nandipur Power Project, where the Dongfang Electric Corporation is involved, were discussed during the meeting. The President during the meeting said that Pakistan highly values Chinese assistance to the country in overcoming economic difficulties and development. He said that Pak-China friendship was now being transformed into a mutually beneficial economic equation which would not only further strengthen this time-tested relationship but would also help to take advantage of economic expertise and tremendous progress made by China.
He said that the Government was committed to provide all possible assistance and facilitation to the Chinese companies involved with various projects in the country. Si Zefu, Chairman Dongfang Electric Corporation thanked the President formeeting the delegation and for the facilitation. – APP
