QUETTA: Eight people, including a woman, were killed in three separate incidents of firing in Quetta, Mastung and Jaffarabad on Sunday.According to details, three people on motorbikes were passing from Qambrani Road in Quetta when armed assailants opened fire on them with sophisticated weapons, killing all three on the spot.
A senior police official said two victims belonged to Shia community and the incident seemed to be a case of sectarian killing, however, police is investigating to unearth real motive behind the killing. The assailants escaped on motorbikes after shooting the three people.The deceased were taken to Bolan Medical College Hospital for medico-legal formalities where they had been identified as Ashique Hussain, Amjad Ali and Abdul Qayyum.
Sources said that deceased had gone to Qambrani Road and were attacked by masked men riding on motorbikes.It may be mentioned here that more than dozen people of Shia community have been killed in Quetta in recent months and the banned religious outfit Lashkar—i- Jhangvi have claimed responsibility of all those attacks.However, police have launched a search drive for the arrest of the culprits.In another incident, three people were gunned down in Khad Kucha area of Mastung district, some 60km south of Quetta.Official sources, a group of armed men on two motorbikes intercepted a passenger wagon and dismounted three inmates onboard for Quetta from Mongechar and opened fire on them.
All the three victims who were later identified as Fazalur Rehman, Abdul Qayyum and Muhammad Hassan who died on the spot. The attackers managed to flee from the scene after committing the crime.Sources said the victims belonged to Lango tribe of Baloch and the incident took place due to tribal rivalry.The bodies were taken to Quetta for medico-legal formalities and later shifted to their ancestral town Mongechar.No case was registered till filing of this story.Meanwhile, a person killed his daughter and her alleged paramour in Usta Muhammad town of Jaffarabad.Sources said that a person namely, Allah Dita resident of Goth Gharibabad area of Usta Muhammad shot his daughter and her lover Bashir Ahmed.The accused escaped from the scene after committing the crime.Police said that the case appeared to be incident of honour killing.Police handed over the body to heirs and started investigations into the incident. – Nation
