ISLAMABAD: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon on Monday said that the provincial government has announced Rs 1 million for the family of Ranger’s victim Sarfraz Shah. Talking to a private news channel, Memon said that it is not the price of his life but only a gesture of goodwill to the family. The officials involved in the killing of Sarfraz Shah have been arrested and they will be awarded exemplary punishment, he added. To a question, Sharjeel said that for the protection of human rights, the present government has pledged to enforce the universal principles of Islam, besides the United Nations’ Charter of International Human Rights. He said, violation of human rights was an international issue and incidents of violation of human rights were also taking place in the developed countries, besides developing countries. – Dailytimes
