cj-bhc-shows-resentment-over-not-registering-of-bugtis-murderQuetta: Chief Justice Baluchistan High Court has taken serious notice of not registering of the FIR of former Governor Baluchistan Nawab Akbar Bugti’s murder even after lapse of 19 months and adjourned the court till May 23. The High Court started the hearing on the writ petition filed by Jamil Akbar Bugti son of late Nawab Akbar Bugti. The applicant pleaded the court that the police are not registering the case of his father. He said that lodged an application to police station Sui nearly one and half year ago but no further action was taken by the police department.

The proceeding was heard by two-member bench including Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa and Justice Hashim Kakar, whereas Advocate General Baluchistan Aman Ullah Khan Kanzani, Deputy Attorney General Malik Sikandar Khan, Additional Advocate General and IG Police Baluchistan appeared before the court. IG Police told the court that on the instruction of Ministry of Interior, the case regarding killing of Akbar Bugti was transferred to Crime Branch Quetta form Kohlu Police on 7 March 2011. On this Sohail Ahmed Rajput, the counsel of petitioner said that they were not informed regarding transfer of the case. He said that it is very strange matter that police transferred the case to Quetta without taking any action on its end.

Chief Justice BHC asked the Advocate General that why neither any development was made in case nor statement of any witness was recorded after passing of 19 months. He asked the AG that why the nominated accused were not arrested. Advocate General said that he has received the court notice a day prior so he could not complete his preparedness. He requested the court to give some time for the sturdy of the case. The Bench by accepting the demand of AG instructed him to collect all the records from police, crime branch and other concerned departments and present it before the court on next date of hearing which has been fixed 23 May by the court. – onlinenews
