LAHORE: The Annemarie-Schimmel Haus, associated with the Goethe-Institute, held a show called “German Jazz” at the Zahooral Akhlaq Gallery at the National College of Arts (NCA) on Tuesday.The thirty pictures put on display depicted the start, development and then rise of the Jazz-scene in Germany after the Second World War. The exhibition documented famous artists and different important events of the jazz history in Germany.The exhibition has travelled around South Asia and is now being showcased in Lahore at the NCA till May 15. Separately, the German Cultural Centre is also organising a jazz concert with the Jonas Schoen Quartett, at Peeru’s Cafe on May 4 at 8pm. The musicians who had been invited by the ASH are based in Hamburg, Germany. They were also present during the opening ceremony of the exhibition on Tuesday. – Dailytimes
