ISLAMABAD: A Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) meeting was held here at the Joint Staff Headquarters on Tuesday.General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee presided over the meeting which was attended by Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Secretary Defence, Secretary Defence Production, Director General Joint Staff, Director General Inter Services Intelligence, Director General Strategic Plans Division and senior military officers from the three services, said an ISPR press release.The meeting reviewed issues related to national security and threat perception, besides discussing the progress on the agenda of last meeting.The JCSC meeting is a quarterly moot of senior military leadership to access and evaluate the operational preparedness of the Armed Forces.The forum during the session discussed the prevailing national and regional environment and the challenges being faced by the country.The JCSC Chairman expressed complete satisfaction on the operational preparedness and comprehensive strategy being followed by the Armed Forces to combat the terrorist threat.He also paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces, specially Pakistan Army, in fighting the menace of terrorism. – APP
