ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on Thursday that as Parliament is the institution which reflects the aspirations of nation, all the parliamentarians, being public representatives, should focus their debate on public issues. This is the only forum where national issues are deliberated upon for their best possible solution, he added. The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to parliamentarians, who called on him separately at his Parliament House Chamber. The Prime Minister observed that despite financial constraints, the government has allocated development funds to all the parliamentarians across the board. He urged upon them to personally monitor these projects to mitigate the sufferings of the common people.

The economic indicators, he maintained, show positive signs due to investor friendly policies and the steps taken by the Government to overcome the energy shortage. In this summer, he added, the government would call all the stakeholders to make a comprehensive plan of load management and to ensure the uninterrupted supply  of electricity to agriculture and industry. The parliamentarians apprised the Prime Minister about various ongoing schemes of their relevant constituencies. The parliamentarians included Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah, Minister for Culture Pir Aftab Shah Jillani and MNAs Asif Naqae, Moazzam Jatoi, Asif Tauseef, Raza Hayat Heraj, Ms. Beelam Hasnain and Dr. Yasmin.
