Heavy rains, hail storms hit Punjab

Heavy rains and hail storms were reported in Lahore and several other cities in Punjab.Light winds and a thunderstorm followed by rain in Lahore turned the weather pleasant as winds were recorded at 22 kilometres per hour.Due to the heavy rains, three people were injured, including two women, when a roof of a house, collapsed in Lahore. Wheat crops are also feared to be damaged due to the rains and hail storms.The Meteorological Department of Pakistan has predicted cloudy weather in parts of the country whereas light showers are expected in the Jhang region.The Met office also said that the weather is likely to remain dry in the next five days. In the past 24 hours, the highest rainfall was recorded at 26 millimetres in Lahore. – Dunyanews
