KARACHI: Corps Commander Lieutenant General Muhammad Zahir-ul-Islam recently witnessed a physical drill competition at Hyderabad Garrison.The drill is an important facet of the Army to maintain discipline and excellent turnout in routine. The Corps Commander lauded the parade standards and hoped that in future, such competitions would be continued to uphold the glorious traditions of the Pakistan Army.
Later, he visited Taluka Juhi where in continuation of humanitarian support, the Pakistan Army handed over 23 houses to flood affected families near Juhi town. The Pakistan Army is constructing hundreds of such houses through own resources.The Corps Commander handed over the keys of the houses to the deserving people at a simple but graceful ceremony. The houses contain all essential facilities of daily life. Besides these houses, a mosque and a school were also renovated in the area.It is pertinent to mention here that another project of 14 houses, two basic health units and two schools is also underway near Mehar in district Dadu, which will soon be handed over to the needy people.Earlier, General Officer Commanding, Major General Shaukat Iqbal, briefed the Corps Commander about the project and efforts being made to take care of the affectees. – Dailytimes
