The Pakistan Day Coke Golf Tournament concluded at the Gymkhana Golf Course yesterdy with Amir Mehmood managing a winning edge over his seasoned rivals Mohsin Zafar and Shahid A.Khan at the end of the 18holes competition.Right till the very last putt, the ultimate result hung in balance, till a review of the final scores showed that Amir had beaten Mohsin by fetching a better score on the back nine holes and that helped him to slide Mohsin’s position to the second slot.Amir carded a gross 75 for the day,a score also acheived by Mohsin.Shahid grossed a76.The Coke sponsors felt satisfied that the turnout was full and 86 leading amateurs, all turned out to try a hand at winning honors. However as is usual in such encounters not too many end up winning honors as they fade away losing stokes with a gay abandon and the only consolation is that they have had a golf outing on their favourite golf course.
