ISLAMABAD: Six tour operators from private sector of Pakistan alongwith Tourism Department of Gilgit-Baltistan are participating in world’s biggest Travel Trade Show, ITB-2011 in Berlin this year. Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany Shahid Kamal inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion, set up alongwith Central Asian Countries, situated along the ancient trade “Silk Road’ in the main exhibition hall, said a press release received from Berlin. Pakistan’s Ambassador Shahid Kamal while talking to the Pakistani Tour Operators after the inauguration, said that there was a need for active marketing of Pakistan’s beautiful landscape and ancient civilizations to attract tourists from around the world. He urged them to launch campaign and participate in trade shows to attract tourists to Pakistan. Ambassador Kamal said tourism exhibitions like the Berlin Travel Show provide an excellent platform to showcase Pakistan and enhance business opportunities for the country.Over 12000 exhibitors from over 100 countries are participating in this trade fair, which is expected to pull around 400,000 visitors including tourism, travel, and hoteling industry people from all over the world during the next five days – APP
