Qaim chairs meeting of PPP Sindh Council

KARACHI: A meeting of the Sindh Council of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was held here on Thursday.Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, who is also the provincial president of  PPP, presided over the meeting.The meeting adopted a resolution that the 32nd death anniversary of founder of PPP, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, would be marked in a very befitting manner on April 4.In another resolution, the PPP Sindh Council reposed full confidence in the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, and Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah.Later, Syed Qaim Ali Shah briefed the members of the Press regarding the proceedings of  PPP Sindh Council.Sindh Ministers Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza, Agha Siraj Durrani,  other PPP leaders  Prof. N.D. Khan, Taj Haider, Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Medhi and Najmi Alam were also present on the occasion.Qaim Ali Shah said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto  gave a five-point manifesto a week before her assassination.He said that these five-points are now the property of the people who gave the PPP a five-year mandate.“We are implementing these five-points that were given by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and these  (five-points)  are our commitment with the people”, Qaim Ali Shah added.He said that the mandate that has been given to the PPP by the people should be respected.Sindh Chief Minister said that the present government is pursuing the policy of reconciliation in accordance with the wishes of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.He said that an enabling environment is required to serve the people in an effective manner.Qaim Ali Shah said that the present government wants to serve the masses and accomplish the programme that was given by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.He stated that we are following the policy of reconciliation and for the purpose coalition governments have been formed at the federal and provincial levels – APP
