LAHORE:Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa on Sunday said that he would convene a meeting of governors from all provinces to promote inter-provincial harmony as well as brotherhood among the provinces. Speaking during a media briefing after a visit of MQM delegation here at Governor House, Khosa said that he would play his due role and the conference would help discuss the problems of each other, adding that all political forces must join hands to make the country a fortress of peace.Khosa said that all political leadership including PML (N) Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif wanted continuation of democracy in the country.He said that PPP manifesto outlined transparency in governance and service to the people as its guiding principles and PPP valued suggestions from all.Khosa stressed the need to end politics of hatred and confrontation, saying that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life to achieve this mission and signing of Charter of Democracy (CoD) marked a new beginning in politics.The Punjab governor stressed the need of salvaging a soft image of Pakistan across the world through the promotion of cultural activities like Horse and Cattle shows and Basant festivities in Punjab.Punjab Governor welcomed 10-member MQM delegation headed by MQM Deputy Convenor Farooq Sattar to Punjab and assured the delegation of his complete support in holding MQM gathering at the Mianr-e-Pakistan in April.Briefing the media Farooq Sattar said that MQM had announced a public meeting at the Minar-e-Pakistan on April 10.MQM leader urged the need of promoting politics of dialogue and taking all along for harnessing national consensus and taking the country out of the mire of problems.Farooq Sattar said that the provinces needed inter-provincial harmony, and urged Punjab Governor Latif Khosa to play his role as an elder brother in order to strengthen the federation by forging harmony and unity.
