Qaim discusses 7-point agenda of ZDA

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on Tuesday discussed with Zulfikarabad Development Authority’s (ZDA) governing body the seven-point agenda regarding development, administration, working and financial aspects of Zulfikarabad. The meeting was held at the Sindh CM’s office.The CM, on the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari, stressed the need to work hard for developing the land of the project and implementing the objectives of ZDA in a befitting manner. He directed the officers to streamline the process of assignments and fulfil the tasks well in time.ZDA Managing Director Fazal-ur-Rehman apprised the meeting that the authority had been established under an act passed by the Sindh Assembly on November 23 last year. He presented a brief statement of the report on working and progress of the authority made so far.It was informed that the ZDA had received Rs 90 million budget, while there was still need of additional allocation of Rs 57 million.

He said President Zardari had directed to furnish the land survey details of the coastal belt with situation prior to 1996 and after 1997, as most of the area of the coastal belt had come under seawater since 1997.The meeting was informed that the personal of Pakistan Navy would conduct a survey of the land underwater while SUPARCO has been asked to furnish maps of coastal belt with periods of 1996 and after 1997.The meeting was informed that conceptual master plan would be prepared from reputed firms and competitive bidders, for which an advertisement would be published within 15 days. It was further informed that the groundbreaking ceremony of Zulfikarabad project would be performed soon – Dailytimes
