KPK wants control over gas, electricity royalties

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa (KPK) government has demanded the control over royalties generated by gas and oil resources from federal control.Sources have informed that KPK government has referred to the provisions of 18th amendment, which empowers Provinces to collect royalties of gas and oil, besides workers’ welfare fund, besides also receiving it.It is pertinent to note that earlier, KPK government had also demanded royalties regarding tobacco, but the federal government had so far not ceded the demand to Provincial government – Onlinenews
