ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani called on President Asif Ali Zardari at the Presidency on Thursday.Although no details of the meeting were available from the Presidency, yet informed sources said that Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani also later joined the meeting. The sources said that host of issues including political and security situation in the country came under discussion during the meeting.Meanwhile, it was learnt that the President would chair a crucial meeting of the PPP Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting today at the Presidency. The sources said that the meeting apart from discussing political situation in the country would deliberate on government’s rightsizing of the federal cabinet as well as affairs related to PML-N-PPP coalition government in Punjab.The meeting would also discuss the reconciliation policy of the government and other national issues. The sources said that Prime Minister’s proposed plans of cabinet rightsizing would also come under discussion of the CEC.The sources were of the view that the government was weighing two options – whether to dissolve the entire Federal Cabinet or reduce its size to half.
