Campaign launched against power pilfers

QUETTA: The Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) has started operation against power pilfers.As per detail on special directions of Executive Director of QESCO Mohammad Shafiq Khattak, Raiding team led by Line Superintendent Ejaz Jamali, Abdul Wahid among other police personnel have arrested 20 people involved in stealing electricity red handed from Pashtun Abad, Almo Chowk, Nawa Kali, Sabzal road, Akhroot Abad and other areas of the city.The accused people were brought before Iftikhar Ahmad, Special Magistrate court for further action and other fine according to the 39-A Electricity Act.Later on they were fined over Rs 75000 after the declaration of the crime. The Magistrate also informed that if the fine is not paid they would go to jail.Meanwhile the police have taken into custody wires and other devises.
