President hails reinstatement of KESC employees

ISLAMABAD: Co-Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and  President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday welcomed the reinstatement of over 4000 employees of the Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC).The President congratulated the Sindh provincial government, the federal and provincial committees, which were constituted to resolve the issue, and all others who contributed in the reinstatement of KESC employees.President Zardari reiterated the PPP’s commitment to stand by the working class. He recalled the reinstatement of sacked employees in the recent past and vowed that the party would not abandon the labourers and the working class.It may be mentioned that President Zardari had expressed his serious concern over the sacking of KESC employees and had sought a detailed report from the authorities concerned about the sacking of KESC workers.A three-member committee comprising Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Minister for Water and Power, Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah, Minister for Labour and Manpower and Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, Advisor to Prime Minister, was also constituted to help resolve the issue in consultation with the provincial Chief Minister and Governor – APP
